Joao Castro is a man on a mission. Even though he’s recovering from shoulder surgery, he’s planning the next big paddle trip. The trip featured in this short took Joao 100kms from Cananeia to Ilha do Mel, across the same waters that his father lost his life in. Joao still hears his father’s voice, carrying across the ocean waves for miles, telling him to stay motivated, stay focused and stay driven. Joao’s 5 part mission ends with a non-stop and grueling 2-3 days paddle from main land Brazil to the island of Fernando de Noronha.. the guy has his work cut out for him, but keeps going, one day at a time.
