Ryan McPherson is a Sacramento, California based, Primetime Emmy Award winning cinematographer and specialty camera operator with extensive experience in both non-scripted and scripted television, commercial productions, feature documentaries, and adventure sports documentaries. With a strong background in the industry often working as a “1-man-band”, he is well versed in all things production from script to screen, directing, producing and post-production editing.
One of Ryan's remarkable qualities is his versatility on set. As a cinematographer, he effortlessly adapts to various filming styles and techniques, ensuring that each project he works on is visually captivating and unique. Throughout his travels, Ryan has worked in more than 20 countries across six different continents, often collaborating with diverse individuals from various cultures, which he has gained invaluable experience and a unique perspective that comes with him on his production shoots. From sea to summit, he’s worked with goat farmers, truckers, ballerinas, gang members, politician, musicians, crab fishermen, archeologists, US Marshals, and extreme sports athletes to name a few.
Beyond his technical expertise, Ryan is known for his strong work ethic and ability to thrive in demanding and unpredictable situations. Whether it's working under tight deadlines or maneuvering through difficult terrain, Ryan remains composed and focused, consistently producing outstanding results. His dedication and passion for his craft allow him to be in the right place at the right time, capturing those special moments that truly elevate a production.
When he’s not behind the camera, you can find him spending precious time with his family at the river, out camping or adventuring, or up in the clouds flying high above the Sierra Nevada mountains with his paraglider.
Evan B. Stone is also an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker with over 30 years of experience behind the camera. When it comes to “running and gunning” and making it look pretty, Evan has it mastered! Renowned for his pioneering work in extreme adventure travel, his career began in the 1990s with music videos and skate films, quickly establishing him as a significant figure in the industry. Evan’s exceptional storytelling and cinematic skills have been showcased through his diverse body of work, particularly in adventure and reality TV programming.
Evan's innovative approach to filmmaking has defined the visual style of numerous popular adventure travel series, including "Expedition Unknown" (Discovery) and "Naked and Afraid" (Discovery), “Destination Truth” (SYFY), “Beyond Oak Island” (History)… He even got to hang and shoot with William Shatner for Shark Week!!! His expertise extends to key executive roles such as Executive Director at Current TV, Executive Producer of Development at Ping Pong Productions, and Creator and Executive Producer of "Guntucky" on CMT.
Not many DPs have equally as much style, ability and creativity both behind the lens and in post production/editing. Evan knows both worlds intimately and has the accolades to prove it: Evan won an Emmy for his work at Current TV, MTV Editor of the Year Nominee, and multiple Gold Hugo and Telly Awards. His dedication to mentoring young filmmakers and advocating for the ethical use of AI in the creative arts underscores his commitment to the industry.
In his current role as an expert in AI Post Production Workflow, Evan has embraced the new and exciting world of AI-assisted editing, becoming somewhat of a savant in finding its limits and applications. He utilizes AI-powered tools to streamline the editing process, ensuring efficiency and enhancing the overall quality of the final product. Evan's innovative use of AI includes creating realistic and immersive visual effects, pushing the boundaries of traditional filmmaking.
Evan manages most edits remotely, but occasionally works on location when fast turnaround times are needed. When he’s not in the editing bay or out on set, Evan enjoys exploring new technologies, hiking, and experiencing virtual reality in his spare time.
